A Twin Cities where every young professional is inspired and empowered to make the community better.
The LEAD (Leadership Emergence and Development Project) Project is organized exclusively for charitable purposes under the laws of the State of Minnesota and is the premier nonprofit dedicated to developing the next generation of Twin Cities philanthropic leaders. Founded in 2006, LEAD serves its 2,500+ young professional members by helping making engagement in the Twin Cities nonprofit community accessible, fun and impactful.
To develop the next generation of Twin Cities philanthropic leaders. LEAD carries out its mission in three ways:
- Connecting young professionals with nonprofit volunteer and board positions
- Hosting philanthropic events
- Providing leadership education to young professionals.
The LEAD Project was founded in 2006 as the first organization dedicated to connecting young professional to the Twin Cities nonprofit community. Originally, it specialized in hosting young professional fundraising events for nonprofit causes and successfully created a great deal of buzz and word-of-mouth among Twin Cities’ young professionals. LEAD also began to create awareness with nonprofits and local corporate sponsors.
Today, in its 10th year, the free membership-based organization has expanded its focus to connect, train and empower young professionals to develop into the next generation of Twin Cities’ philanthropic leaders, and in turn, help area nonprofits succeed by connecting them with talented and trained young professionals. LEAD currently serves 2,500+ young professional members in the Twin Cities.
